1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Cart Decode, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. Cart Decode is operated by Packet & Frame, LLC.
These terms apply to all users, including free and paid subscribers.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Cart Decode. By using the platform, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or guardian.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at hello@cartdecode.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
Cart Decode reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Free Tier
Cart Decode offers a free tier that includes core barcode scanning, product information, and limited saved products. The free tier may include clearly-labeled sponsored recommendations; sponsored content is always marked "Sponsored" and never affects or appears as our ethical scores or findings. Users may opt out of personalized advertising in account settings.
Cart Decode reserves the right to modify free tier features at any time with reasonable notice.
5. Premium Subscription
Paid subscriptions are not yet available for purchase; the terms in sections 5–6 take effect when subscription billing launches.
5a. Features
Premium subscribers receive enhanced features including expanded product analysis, personalized ethics-matching, unlimited saved products, and an ad-free experience. For a full list of current Premium features, visit cartdecode.com/pricing.
5b. Pricing
- Monthly: $2.99/month
- Annual: $24.99/year
- Founding Member Rate: $14.99/year, locked for life for the first 1,000 subscribers
Prices are in USD. Cart Decode reserves the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days notice. Price changes will not affect founding member rates or active annual subscriptions until their next renewal.
5c. Billing
Web subscriptions are billed through Stripe. iOS subscriptions are billed through Apple In-App Purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You authorize Cart Decode to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
5d. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to Premium features through that date. Cart Decode does not issue refunds for partial billing periods or unused subscription time.
5e. Apple In-App Purchases
Subscriptions purchased through the iOS App Store are subject to Apple's terms and conditions. Cancellations and billing disputes for iOS subscriptions must be managed through your Apple ID account settings.
6. Founding Member Rate
The founding member rate of $14.99/year is available to the first 1,000 subscribers who activate it. This rate is locked for life for qualifying subscribers, meaning it will not increase at renewal provided the subscription remains active and in good standing. Founding member status is non-transferable. Allowing a subscription to lapse forfeits the founding member rate.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Cart Decode for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the platform
- Use automated tools to access the platform without authorization
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Attempt to circumvent any security or access controls
- Use the platform in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it
Cart Decode reserves the right to terminate access for violations of this section without notice.
8. Intellectual Property
All Cart Decode software, source code, algorithms, product designs, and related technology are the proprietary intellectual property of Packet & Frame, LLC and its parent entities. All rights reserved.
Cart Decode's name, logo, and branding may not be used without prior written permission.
User-generated content features are not available at this time. When such features are introduced, separate terms governing ownership and licensing of submitted content will apply.
9. Third-Party Data & Services
Cart Decode aggregates publicly available information from government databases and open-source datasets. This information is provided for informational purposes only. Cart Decode does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party data.
Cart Decode uses third-party services including Stripe, Apple, and Google to operate the platform. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms.
10. Disclaimers
Cart Decode is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Nothing on Cart Decode constitutes medical, nutritional, legal, financial, or professional advice. Ingredient safety assessments are informational summaries only. Always consult a qualified professional before making decisions affecting your health or safety.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Packet & Frame, LLC, its members, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use Cart Decode, or reliance on any information displayed on the platform.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Packet & Frame, LLC and its members, officers, agents, and successors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the platform or violation of these terms.
13. Inactive Accounts
Cart Decode may notify and subsequently deactivate accounts that have been inactive for an extended period, in accordance with applicable law including CCPA and GDPR. Users will receive notice before any account deactivation or data deletion. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time at hello@cartdecode.com.
14. Modifications to Terms
Cart Decode reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
16. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
17. Entire Agreement
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and Packet & Frame, LLC regarding your use of Cart Decode.
